Playa del Carmen Dive Center Goes Online to Increase Dive Vacations to the Mayan Riviera

Abyss Dive Center in Playa del Carmen Mexico moves their dive center online to secure a larger global diving audience.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico, May 09, 2012 –(PR.com)– Abyss Dive Center has reviewed the current model for dive vacation selling and has re-designed their online strategy to sell directly to divers across the globe. This redesign keeps the diver in contact with the dive operation starting with their vacation research and ending with their dive vacation. Dive Centers build their online strategies through third party vacation sellers who focused on profits not diving experiences. This strategy builds online relationships directly with the dive center, a new format that enhances a divers experience.

Dave Tomlinson, the owner of the Abyss Dive Center, recognized years ago the power of online selling when he started his social media strategy. In a recent review of his business he discovered that over 75% of his customers book their diving online through his website and online store. The demands of a bricks and mortar store seemed less important than an online strategy that proved to be more efficient for his divers and enabled better customer service to his international client base.

“The new online strategy enables our dive team to concentrate on customer service and online diving services so divers experience VIP service upon arrival in Playa del Carmen. Shifting our energy to customer service and relationships is a sound business strategy in today’s market. The result of this shift is better communication, customer service and profit margins. We now focus on the diving experience and diver relationship not the retail experience,” said Dave Tomlinson at a recent interview.

Dave Tomlinson has run dive tours in the Mexican Caribbean for over 15 years and successfully gained a return customer rate of over 62% in the Abyss Dive Center. As the internet took over, Dave slowly shifted more of his tourism information and dive sales online. The success of his online sales through his website far exceeded his in person and third party sales. In April 2012 he will officially shift all of his sales and customer service inquires to online media, including social media networks.

Abyss Dive Center will enhance their customer services through Twitter with a twitter account dedicated to diving services while customers are in Playa del Carmen. All sales will be conducted through their new online store and classes will be conducted virtually before a client arrives. All dive classes will adhere to the Recreational Diving guidelines with instructors meeting dive students at pre-determined meeting points, a convenient alternative that provides divers with options closer to their resorts and hotels.

Abyss Dive Center is a full service Canadian run Dive Center and Training Facility in Playa del Carmen, Mexico that creates the ultimate dive experience in the Mayan Riviera. Abyss Dive Center offers dive vacations, dive courses and diving resources can be accessed through the website making this the easiest and most efficient way to book your dive vacation directly with a dive center. With over 15 years of diving experience in guiding and instructing divers, Abyss Dive Center remains on the cutting edge of dive vacations, and the dive business. Multi-lingual, multi-talented dive guides offer ocean and cenote guided tours, recreational dive courses from open water to dive master.
